Wooddale Avenue - Southwest LRT Construction Update

The METRO Green Line Extension (Southwest LRT or SWLRT) will operate on a route from downtown Minneapolis through the communities of St. Louis Park, Hopkins, Minnetonka, and Eden Prairie. The line will include 16 new stations, including one at Wooddale Avenue in St. Louis Park.

Beginning Monday, February 17, 2020 - Wooddale Avenue South Roadway Impacts

Lane Shifts
Traffic along Wooddale Avenue South to be shifted to the east half of Wooddale Avenue as early as February 17 while crews start building the South Cedar Lake Trail underpass. During this shift, vehicular traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction while pedestrian traffic is maintained on the east side of Wooddale Avenue.

Full Closure
A full closure of Wooddale Avenue is anticipated in late Spring 2020 for approximately 5 weeks. During this closure, Wooddale Avenue South will be closed to vehicular and pedestrian traffic south of Highway 7 Frontage Road. The closure is required to allow the contractor to complete the construction of the South Cedar Lake Regional underpass, retaining walls, construct the new freight line and the final roadway and sidewalks.
